Big Bend National Park / Fort Bliss RV Park

Good day my friends and family out there, I just want to say that I would have posted sooner than today but out at the Big Bend Area in Texas, you don’t get good cell or WiFi at all.. So I am now posting our visit at the Big Bend National Park that we have been staying for the past 8 days…

We are now at Fort Bliss RV Campground in El Paso, Texas… We are heading to the Lost Dutchman State Park in a few days, but staying here at Fort Bliss El Paso for the next 4 days.. The campgrounds are nice, cement pads, full hookup!! The perks of being Retired military, you can stay at any military RV park for a good price.

Jodi and I want to tell you, if you have not visited the Big Bend, it is a must for sure… This place took our breath away so many time, I almost past out… it is BEAUTIFUL here. We spent 3 days out at the park, and really still didn’t see everything, you have to stay for almost 4 to 5 days going out to the park and seeing the sites. I will post some pictures on the menu bar that will say pictures of Big Bend. Just click on it and it will go thru most of the nice pictures and sites we saw.. I took 365 pictures but posted my best.. Hope you enjoy… Just an incredible place to see….

The small town we stayed in outside of the Big Bend National Park was Terlingua, TX.. It had a ghost town, and some neat places to see.  We also went outside of our camp ground and went on a little hike.. nice..

We are going to head to the Lost Dutchman and will take some nice pictures of being out there next week. Till then we hope you are staying warm, or digging yourself out of snow and staying warm… Till next week, stay safe and stay tuned…

Gruene / San Antonio Texas

We have had some good days here in Texas, temperatures have been good, upper 70s and low 50s,plus storms have been staying away. I am updating this blog on our first rainy day here. About 1/2 in. of rain they are calling may be more. We have spent a day in Gruene, TX for Jodi’s Birthday. Have been here before while I was living here in San Antonio a few years back. Walked around and hit a few stores and had Jodi’s Birthday dinner at the Gristmill. A nice restaurant overlooking the Guadeloupe River.

Jodi getting ready for her chicken dinner.

When we walked around we came to this little store that had some BIG Chimes. They are about 7 feet long and sound nice. You have to hang them from a big tree and very high. They cost about 800.00.

To understand the size of these chimes, I had Jodi stand under one!!

We then went to San Antonio for a nice day to walk the River Walk, and checked out the Alamo. There were way to many people visiting the Alamo, so since Jodi and I have seen it a few years ago, we didn’t want to go. I took a few pictures. I have one I will post from a few years ago, and the one with the crowd of people was now. Had a great day seeing the sites along the River.

We are heading out in a few days to the Big Bend National Park. We will be set up to stay there for 8 days, and get some good pictures and see some of the beautiful open range and hills of that part of Texas. We both have never been out there, so all of this will be exciting.. Will be posting some pics of Big Bend in another week.. Till then, you all keep following and stay safe..
