Arrived at Fontainebleau State Park, Louisiana

We are now starting to head West towards Texas, Arizona then Grand Canyon. We are going to start to head back to NY when we get to the Grand Canyon.

We are now here at Fontainebleau State Park in Louisiana…Jodi has added another State to our Map..

I real nice park with a small Beach and Pier on the Pontchartrain Lake… We have been here since the 1st of February and will stay till the 15th.. Spent our second day on the Beach and took some nice pictures.

Beach

Our first Beautiful Sun Set!!

We walked all over the park and found out that this place has some big and beautiful Live Oak trees.. Thanks to Jim and Sheryl Byrnes we met at Gulf State Park, they told us about the Oak trees here. Huge…

We also have some visitors here, we had a 5 foot alligator about 15 feet from the back of our RV in Gulf State Park, and now we have wild bores wondering in this park, its never boring in our travels..

This is our camping site for our stay here..

We are looking forward to walking down Bourbon Street in New Orleans.. We are going to cross the longest causeway in the world to get there. They say that the causeway over Pontchartrain Lake made the Guinness Book of World Records.   (24 miles long)..

When we head to New Orleans next week, we will post some more pics….  Hope you are all doing well this winter. Our thoughts are with all of you following Jodi and I on our travels…. Stay tuned and see where we go next….

That last Live Oak was the one I tried to describe to you. From that distance Sheryl seemed to be no more than an ant when she sat on one of its great roots.

    Grand travels to you both.

    Life should be an adventure….

We’re wondering how everything went during the storm when it ran through your area. Looks like things got pretty exciting around the New Orleans region.

    Hope you’re doing well.

We had another big scare here Rving at the State Park.. Bath house visit with others to ride out the tornadoes in the area.. Luckily we didn’t have any in the park, but one was 8 miles from us.. Plus New Orleans got hit bad… We have dodged another one… thank God… There were 7 confirmed tornadoes that his all round us… Was heading your way after it hit us, so how did you guys fare??

This is all good to hear.

We’ve come to embrace any and all situations that place a bookmark in our memories strongly enough to be able to call up the fact that we actually have and do exist. From the exceptional to the disasterous.

Not really sure how things went at the park since we woke up Monday to spontaneously claim a much, on impulse at least, vacation from our vacation. We are finishing with that escape today. We’re over on Santa Rosa Island, by Fort Pickens. Sitting on the 7th floor balcony listening and watching the surf below. My goals weren’t set high enough. We would be up 1 floor up enjoying the penthouse view instead. This upgrade in lifestyle would have been the primary goal instead of only to wonder around this beautiful landscape of the US like a nomad in our Gypsy Condo. Not going to even begin to pretend any degree of dissatisfaction over where we are at this moment in time. I would post a picture from this view but not seeing a way to make that happen.

Great adventures and memories to both of you travelers.
        Be safe and enjoy
