Tobyhanna State Park Second Time

Hello everyone, we left Gifford Pinchot State Park Pennsylvania, had a good few days there. That park was our fourth stop when we started RVing two years ago-nice park. They are putting full hookups in some of the sites which will be good for us next time we go there again in the future. Here are some good sunset pictures we took at the beach at the park.

Now thats a good Camp Fire

We are now at Tobyhanna State Park in upstate Pennsylvania. This park is a nice park but you only get electric 30/50 AMPs and that is it. We forgot that the site did not have a water hook up, and we did not pay any attention as we pulled into our spot unhooked and set up, ooops, NO WATER! So you do have to fill your RV with fresh water before you get into your site. We have been doing this for over two years, and we just got so carried away and did not think that there was no water hook ups!!! Really!! Still making small mistakes. Well, I was glad that when we first started RVing, we bought a 45 gallon portable water bladder, and I have a pump that pumps water into our fresh water tank. So we just had to get the bladder filled and fill our RV with it.  Did it, done and now we are glad we had it. We will look next time to see if we have water at our site before unhooking and setting up. Wow, what a day…

Wonder if we are going to see any black bears at this park like we did last time we were here.

Raining for the next few days, hope it clears up for us to enjoy a few days here. I am pretty sure that the snow is no longer. This park has a small beach and has many hiking trails. We will be hiking while here.

Tobbyhanna State Park, PA

We will be here for the next week. Then we will head to Myers RV dealer/Service in Bath, NY for a few repairs and some annual services that we need done, spend the night at the dealer and head to Camp Elmbois the next day to start working as Camp hosts for the next 5 months. Time for us to get to work and still have a great time with our friends we have missed from our home town…

Will post again as soon as we get up to New York and begin our hosting job in Hammondsport, NY… Camp Elmbois for the next 5 months.

Looking forward in mid July for the Vinette family picnic at Hamlin State Park…NY Outside Rochester.. Fun Fun…

Stay tuned for our adventures of the next few months…

Stoney Creek Campground

Hello Everyone, we are now getting closer to NY.. We stopped here in Virginia at the Stoney Creek Camp ground. The Camp ground needs a lot of work, and they are making room for more camp sites, so it’s not peaceful and quiet, lots of noise with the trucks and bulldozers going,  They need to improve what they already have. The roads in the park are horrible. They only have one out of 4 shower houses working, trash all over their beach and lake. They have a lot of permanent campers here, very loud and obnoxious people.  We do not recommend this place to anyone. Just letting RVers out there know, not a good place for right now.  Will not come here again.

Meanwhile

While we were here, we did go into Staunton, VA which is a very historic place. Nice small town. It was our Anniversary, so we had a great day of walking around the historical town and took a few pictures, and I am using some from the internet. We just walked around checking out the historic buildings in town,

The train stations that once was a thriving station.

Amtrak still stops there but does not have an active station. They turned the train station into a restaurant, Pullman Restaurant, but it was shut down about 10 years ago. Still vacant to this day. The inside has about 20 or so Tiffany hanging lamps hanging from the ceiling.

We went to a small wine tasting place that makes some good Riesling wine locally, The Ox-Eye vineyards.

Would not believe at times you go visit some place and you find out that the oldest something is in the area, well the oldest Pawn shop in the country is right here in Staunton, VA.. 1890

Ended the day with a great diner at the Byers St. Bistro. Was an awesome meal. Jodi had a grilled chicken power salad and I had the Bistro Burger. Very good. Would recommend this place when visiting Staunton, VA…

Will make this a Bobble Eats and Drinks on the Map!! You all should check out the Map here on my blog, just click where we are now in the menu bar….

We are heading to Gifford Pinchot state park, PA, just outside of Gettysburg. We have been there before and it is a great place of history. Jodi and I are going to just enjoy the State Park while there. We have done the Gettysburg Historic site seeing when we were here the last two times…

Hope all is well, and that the winter season is over for the North…. Better be, because we are heading that way….

Will update you guys in a few days on our last few stops before we start our Camp Hosting job up in NY….
