Our Trip Out West to New Mexico

Hello RV friends, friends and family!! We are glad that all of you who were involved with Florence are okay. If you had damage to your property, we are very sorry to hear that. Be safe out there where ever you are.

Jodi and I are slowly making our way to New Mexico for our winter stay at Pancho Villa State Park. We left NY the 6th of September and we are now in Marion, Kansas at a nice Corp of Engineers park, Hillsboro Cove on Marion Reservoir. Can’t ask for a nicer spot…  We have hit a few other locations on our way out here; 6 places, and we have about 4 more places to stop before we get into New Mexico. Check out some of the places we stopped: Folly’s End RV Park, PA / Alum State Park, OH / Lieber State Park, IN /  Sunrise RV Park, MO / Great Escape RV Resort, MO / and Hillsboro Cove, KS.  There was an RV park we did not like very much. We just didn’t feel comfortable there. It had too many permanent people and their RV areas looked very trashy. We did not like that park at all.  (Sunrise RV Park, Moscow Mills, MO) Jodi took advantage of the full hook up site, though, and got caught up on laundry!  It was also one of the few places that we had a good signal so we also got caught up on some of our shows.

There was one interesting thing about the Sunrise RV Park, The father of the owner did wood carvings, and must have had over 500 pieces of wood carvings in the event center.

We were fortunate at the Great Escape RV Resort in Higginsville, MO when we had the 90+ degree hot hot days while we were there, they had a small pool, and we had it ALL TO OURSELVES…

Here is some pictures of our site here at Hillsboro Cove, Kansas  (Corp of Engineer Park)

We have added 5 states to our MAP..

Our Site at Lieber State Park

There was a water falls near Lieber State Park called the Cataract Falls. Here are some pictures of the falls and a covered bridge.

Our travels across the states are challenging. Our coverage with Verizon is horrible. Almost every place we have stopped, we didn’t have a good signal. Most of the time we depend on Verizon to have great coverage so we can keep an eye on weather, news and to staying in touch with all of you, and we have been struggling with Verizon the whole time. I am lucky we had good Wi Fi  at a park in Higginsville, MO. So I took advantage of it to start our updated Bobble Head Post. When we get to New Mexico I will post the last bit of our trip to our winter spot in New Mexico… Hope all is well, and stay tuned for more updates…. We are now heading to Oklahoma, Texas and then New Mexico…   Till next time be SAFE………   Bobble Head Travelers,   Mark and Jodi….
